The role

We’re looking for a hands-on Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to own our Latvian compliance strategy and execution across Europe.

You’ll be responsible for building and leading a modern, crypto-native compliance function that keeps us ahead of regulation while enabling fast product innovation.

You’ll work directly with the founding team, regulators, and partners to ensure Bleap operates safely, transparently, and fully in line with applicable rules—without adding unnecessary friction for users.

This is not a “tick-the-box” role. It’s an execution role. You’ll be in the weeds, drafting policies, talking to regulators, setting up monitoring, unblocking launches.

What you'll do

Own Bleap’s compliance framework across crypto, fiat, and card products.
Lead regulatory licensing, registrations, and ongoing obligations in EU markets (and new markets as we expand).
Design, implement, and maintain policies and procedures across AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC/KYB, fraud, and transaction monitoring.
Build and lead the compliance team, including MLRO/Deputy MLRO functions where relevant.
Act as primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and key banking/payment partners.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to embed compliance into product design (onramp, offramp, card, and more).
Oversee compliance tooling and vendors (KYC providers, monitoring systems, case management, etc.).
Prepare and deliver governance reporting to the Board and senior leadership.
Drive a culture of strong compliance, clear ownership, and pragmatic risk-assessment across the company

What we look for

Significant experience (5+ years) in compliance within fintech, payments, e-money, or crypto.
Deep understanding of EU regulatory frameworks (MiCA, AMLD, PSD2/PSR, e-money, issuing).
Proven track record building or scaling a compliance program, ideally in a high-growth environment.
Comfortable switching between strategy and execution: you can design frameworks and also write the actual policy docs.
Strong relationship management skills with regulators, banks, and payment partners.
Data-driven mindset: you’re comfortable working with metrics, dashboards, and monitoring tools.
Clear, concise communicator—both internally and externally.
Entrepreneurial and excited by the idea of owning a critical function in a small, high-velocity team.
